"The flaw in this trial is that we will only have Mr. Dogan's personality and won't be able to compare it to the other 50 (co-accused, Eds.), especially to the main one, Dominique Pelicot (the key accused and husband of victim Gisèle Pélicot, Eds.). It is highly likely that he was no match for such an extraordinary personality that was presented by Mr. Pelicot," says Jean-Marc Darrigade, a lawyer for the accused who is being retried as part of the appeal trial known as the Mazan rape case, which opened this Monday in Nîmes.
