French luxury retailer Galeries Lafayette is set to open its first store in India through a partnership with local conglomerate Aditya Birla Group, as it seeks to tap into the growing appetite for high-end goods in the world’s most populous country. The flagship store -- a sprawling 90,000-square-foot outlet in Mumbai, India's financial capital -- will feature 250 luxury and designer brands and is scheduled to open in early November.
