Description
Ghislaine Maxwell, who was convicted of helping the financier sexually abuse underage girls and is currently serving a lengthy prison sentence, a senior official said Tuesday.
“If Maxwell has information about anyone who has committed crimes against victims, the FBI and the DOJ will hear what she has to say,” Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said in a post on X, adding that President Donald Trump “has told us to release all credible evidence.” A lawyer for Maxwell confirmed that there have been discussions with the government.
Associated Press reporter Eric Tucker, who has been following the Epstein investigation, explained the details of this development.
“Maxwell was Epstein's girlfriend. She was convicted in 2021 in connection with Epstein’s sexual abuse,” Tucker said. “And Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche posted on social media that he wants to speak with Ms. Maxwell for any additional information she may have about anybody else who may have participated in Epstein's crimes.”
While Maxwell’s lawyer confirmed they are in talks with the Justice Department, it remains unclear when—or whether—the interview will take place, Tucker reported.
