Description
Enjoy the final day of summer-like weather! Big changes are on the way starting on Tuesday, including a pair of chilly air and much-needed rain!
This afternoon, temperatures will soar into the low to mid-80s yet again, with light southerly winds. Skies will be mostly sunny to partly cloudy, with a scattered shower or two that may be possible from the late morning through the early afternoon, but these chances will remain small and many will stay dry. Those that do see rainfall will not see much.
Clouds will continue to increase as we head into Monday night with rain chances rising as well. This will lead into what is shaping up to be a washout of a Tuesday. Expect widespread showers and some thunderstorms for most of the day, with rain cooled highs only reaching the low to mid-70s.
Overall rainfall amounts won't be enough to totally bust the drought, but much of central Ohio stands to receive .5" to 1.0" of rain, and that will certainly help things out! Some southern counties could see in excess of 1 to 2 inches, so we will need to keep a close eye on these areas.
Once the cold front slides through Tuesday night, the showers will taper off very early Wednesday, but then we turn our attention to the tumbling temps. Despite clearing skies by Wednesday afternoon and into Thursday, highs will only reach the mid- to upper 60s!
The light cold snap won't last long, with highs returning to the 70s by Friday and into next weekend!
