Description
A driver was injured when his tanker truck overturned Wednesday morning at a Dublin roundabout, causing an hourslong closure, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The single-vehicle crash happened around 11:55 a.m. in the roundabout on state Route 161 at University Boulevard in Jerome Township.
According to OSHP, a preliminary investigation revealed a 2015 Freightliner Coronado truck was heading east on Route 161 near the intersection of University Boulevard. The driver reportedly failed to maintain control of the truck while turning, overturned, traveled off the right side of the road and hit a light pole.
The driver was taken to Riverside Methodist Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
OSHP said the truck was hauling around 8,500 gallons of fuel — all of which remained inside — at the time of the crash. A public information officer for Dublin initially told 10TV the truck was leaking gasoline.
Route 161 was shut down due to the crash but has since reopened.
The crash remains under investigation.
