Description
Vice President JD Vance had a message for Gov. Gretchen Whitmer while speaking in Michigan on Wednesday.
He said the administration is “happy” to send the National Guard to Detroit.
“All you got to do is ask."
Vance’s comments were made in Howell, about 60 miles northwest of Detroit.
Most violent crime has been on the decline in Detroit in recent years, following a national trend that can be seen in many cities.
“Look, the city of Detroit we know has got some serious crime problems and we know that it’s the people in Detroit who suffer the most,” Vance said at Hatch Stamping Co.
Trump announced Monday that guard troops will go next to Memphis, Tennessee. The state’s Republican governor appeared with Trump for the announcement.
