Description
As part of a five-year strategic plan announced by IMPD Chief Chris Bailey earlier this year, community members gathered Wednesday evening for the first of several public listening sessions aimed at shaping the department’s future — and strengthening trust with the community.
The event took place at the Brightwood Community Center on the city’s east side, where police officers were deliberately absent. Instead, representatives from Taylor Advising, a local consulting firm, led the conversation. The goal was to create a space for honest and candid feedback from residents without the pressure of a police presence.
