Aug. 5 on The Story: On the campaign trail, now-Mayor Keith Wilson had good things to say about PDX Saints Love. With backing from Wilson's nonprofit, they started a place dedicated to getting homeless people what they need to survive, maybe even what they need to get off the streets. But now the program faces closure unless it raises a considerable amount of money — a position they're in, they say, because the city of Portland never invited them to compete for the grant funding they would need to keep going. City officials say PDX Saints Love just missed the deadline to apply.
