Description
Salem City Council voted unanimously on Monday to declare a state of emergency to prepare its water system for a planned 2026 deep drawdown of Detroit Lake Reservoir. The city's primary source of drinking water is a treatment plant on the North Santiam River about 27 miles downstream from the Detroit Dam.
