Description
Oct. 2 on The Story: After a tense night outside the ICE facility in Portland, where at least one person was taken into federal custody for unknown reasons, Thursday morning brought another day of calm, with just a few dedicated protesters standing vigil outside. Despite President Trump's efforts to label the protesters as domestic terrorists, people like Jack and Johanna King try to demonstrate otherwise. Jack stands outside in a chicken onesie, with an American flag draped over his shoulders like a cape, "keeping Portland weird." Johanna, who said she was pepper sprayed by federal officers on Sunday, is 86 years old, a photographer who has photos dating back to the Civil Rights Movement.
