Sept. 22 on The Story: Back in 2023, the Multnomah Safe Rest Village became the city of Portland's first official attempt at a transitional housing model that can now be found all over the city. But as Mayor Keith Wilson pushes to open more homeless shelters across the city in order to reach his goal of ending unsheltered homelessness, even the 3-year-old site in Multnomah Village is getting pushback from neighbors who say that the city and shelter staff aren't "responsive" enough to the livability issues they see.
