Description
As more than 350,000 people prepare to fill the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for this weekend's racing festivities, law enforcement officials say they’re ready not just for the crowds and the traffic, but also for more serious concerns like potential human trafficking.
“This is the biggest weekend of the year in the state,” IMPD Ofc. Drew Brown said. “We work closely with Speedway Police Department, the Indiana State Police, our federal partners and other agencies that will be in and around the area.”
While officials say large events like the Indy 500 don’t cause trafficking, the gatherings can create opportunities for people who are up to no good.
