A Lafayette man faces decades in prison after pleading guilty to murdering his 3-month-old son and beating his wife with a tire iron in 2024.
Eliasard Moneus pleaded guilty on May 15 at the Tippecanoe County Courthouse in Lafayette. He confessed to murdering his son, Jacob, who he stuffed into a bucket of laundry detergent after beating his wife with a tire iron the morning he killed his son. Jacob suffocated to death, and his mother survived.
