IMPD is investigating a suspected arson after an early Tuesday morning fire damaged a building in Broad Ripple Park. Police said they were dispatched to 1610 Broad Ripple Ave. after reports of a fire at a storage building in the park around 2 a.m. May 13. The Indianapolis Fire Department quickly contained the fire, but the building suffered significant damage. Indy Parks officials said an alarm triggered an initial IMPD response around midnight, but officers were unable to locate a suspect. Investigators believe the suspect later returned and intentionally set the building on fire. On Wednesday, investigators classified the incident as arson, IFD said in a release.
