Madison County sheriff's deputies arrested a 77-year-old Frankfort man after allegedly hit and killed a 16-year-old boy in Elwood and drove off Saturday night.
Deputies arrested the driver on a preliminary charge of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, a Level 4 felony.
According to the sheriff's office, the driver spoke with investigators Tuesday morning, May 13 and was booked into the Madison County Jail shortly after noon.
Investigators determined the driver was aware he struck something on the night of the crash before leaving the scene.
