Police are investigating a shooting on the near southeast side that sent a child to the hospital Friday night. An IMPD spokesperson said officers were called around 10:15 p.m. May 9 to investigate a report of a shooting in the 1700 block of Zwingley Street, which is near South Keystone Avenue and East Minnesota Street. The officers found a victim described as a young child who had been shot. The child was taken to Riley Hospital for Children, where police described their condition as "stable." The exact age of the child is not known at this time.
