Description
The driver of a car involved in a crash that killed a former Hamilton Southeastern High School football standout is in custody.
Mason Alexander died in the crash on Florida Road near Southeastern Parkway and Interstate 69 around 9 p.m. on March 1, 2025.
Investigators believe the driver of a 2016 BMW 340 was driving south on Florida Road from 113 Street when they attempted to pass another vehicle. Police said the driver, who is a juvenile, noticed an oncoming SUV and overcorrected in an attempt to avoid a collision and struck a tree off the east side of the road. The BMW then caught fire.
