Description
Indiana University has released a report from a law firm investigating allegations of misconduct by a former athletic doctor.
The report is responding to allegations that Dr. Brad Bomba Sr. performed unnecessary rectal examinations during athletic physicals for IU men's basketball players. Five of those players have joined a lawsuit naming the IU Board of Trustees and a former athletic trainer named Tim Garl.
Neither Bomba Sr. nor Garl are facing criminal charges at this time. Bomba Sr. is not a plaintiff in the lawsuit.
But the report, compiled by Jones Day after the law firm was hired by IU on Sept. 10, 2024, says that Bomba Sr. performed digital rectal examinations "in a clinically appropriate manner."
