Description
A 13-year-old boy from Anderson pleaded guilty Tuesday to the murder of a 61-year-old man.
On Tuesday, April 29, Madison County Chief Deputy Prosecutor Andrew Hanna said Joseph Henry Vannote Jr. pleaded guilty without the benefit of a plea agreement to two counts of murder and one count of armed robbery.
“I take the view that if you’re old enough to know what you’re doing and you intentionally take the life of another person, we’re going to try you as an adult," Hanna said. "Anytime you see juveniles associated or charged with offenses like this, it’s extremely concerning and disheartening.”
