Description
An investigation is underway after a fatal crash involving a train and SUV Saturday afternoon on Indy's east side.
According to IMPD, around 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, officers responded to a serious bodily injury crash in the 2200 block of North Sherman Drive, near the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and North Sherman Drive.
The police report states a CSX train and a 2019 Jeep Cherokee collided at the intersection. Police said one man was found inside the Cherokee and was taken to an area hospital in critical condition. The man was pronounced dead at the hospital on Monday, April 28.
Police said the conductor of the train remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
