An investigation is underway after a Lawrence police officer shot a person with a gun Sunday night. According to a spokesperson with the Lawrence Police Department, shortly before 9 p.m. on April 27, officers responded to the 4600 block of North Richardt Avenue, near East 46th Street, on a report of a person armed with a gun. At some point during the police run, an officer-involved shooting occurred. Police have not shared additional information at this time about what led up to the shooting. The person shot, identified at this time as an adult, was taken to a hospital, where their condition is described as "stable."
