Air quality in the Indianapolis area has worsened and remains among the worst in the country, according to a new report from the American Lung Association. The group said in its annual "State of the Air" report, released April 23, that the Indy metro area ranks as the 54th worst nationally (out of 228) for ozone pollution with five unhealthy days per year. That's worsened from 60th worst and two unhealthy days per year in the 2024 report.
