The Lawrence Police Department is investigating after a man was killed in a shooting early Wednesday morning. Around 3:30 a.m. April 23, officers responded to a report of a person shot in the 4500 block of Vernon Avenue, near East 46th Street and North Franklin Road. When police arrived on scene, they found a man who had been shot. He was pronounced dead by medics just moments later.
