Description
A judge in Howard County has granted a prosecutor's motion to dismiss a charge filed last year in a nearly 20-year-old murder case.
According to online court documents, the prosecutor cited "a significant and ongoing staffing crisis that hinders its ability to adequately prepare for consecutively scheduled major jury trials" in seeking dismissal in the case of Kevin Maddox.
Maddox was one of two people arrested for their alleged role in the 2006 murder of Chad Rouse in Kokomo. Police found Rouse at a house in the 1400 block of South Armstrong Street.
