A southern Indiana police officer shot and wounded a suspect during a bizarre standoff that resulted in the theft of a police vehicle. Dispatchers in Warrick County received a report of a reckless driver on SR 62 west of Boonville. A Chandler police officer spotted the vehicle minutes later, but the driver refused to stop. The driver, later identified as 31-year-old Nina Devillez of Santa Claus, then crashed into a ditch in Chandler and got out of the vehicle, wearing a motorcycle helmet and waving what appeared to be a sword at the officer.
