Description
Every year brings something different, but on average we are waiting through at least mid-late April until our final freeze. Some Hoosiers wait until Mother's Day.
Mother's Day is very safe and many of us can remember a very late season freeze or snow, however many years we do not have to wait that long.
The difference between a frost and freeze is where the water freezes. During a frost, water on the outside of the plant can freeze temporarily. While that can slightly damage the outside of the most sensitive plants, blooms, or tropical plants, many times the plant is still okay. During a freeze, the water on the inside of the plant can freeze and bust the vascular system inside. This can be really damaging.
