Description
"It's not supposed to happen this way. I was supposed to go first before any of my children," said Bonnie Halloran, the grieving mother of Nathan Merritt.
The family of 27-year-old Merritt is still trying to come to grips with how their lives changed forever within seconds on Wednesday, April 2.
"It sounded like he got blown away by a tornado ... just taken. That's what it sounded like, but I didn't know it was power lines," said Nathan's wife, Amber.
Amber said Nathan was on his way home after meeting up with her at a Walmart. She said it was pitch black at the time and pouring rain.
