Description
Two people were hospitalized, including one flown to an Indianapolis hospital, after a crash between a semi and school bus in Madison County Monday afternoon.
The crash was reported around 2:30 p.m. March 17 at the intersection of East 1550 North and County Road 300 East. That's just east of the town of Summitville and around seven miles northeast of Alexandria.
According to the Madison County Sheriff's Department, a farming semi hauling corn was traveling south on 300 East when the driver, a 19-year-old from Summitville, failed to stop at a stop sign and crashed into a school bus from the Madison-Grant United School Corporation.
The school bus, driven by a 35-year-old from Gaston, Indiana, was traveling west on 1550 North and did not have any children on it at the time of the crash.
