Description
While IMPD was arresting a man for his alleged role in a deadly overdose investigation, they found more than just the suspect - they discovered $30,000 in cash and enough fentanyl to kill nearly 40,000 people.
On Dec. 21, 2024, IMPD officers responded to a report of a person down in the 700 block of East Thompson Road, near U.S. 31 on the city's south side. When police and medics arrived on scene, they found an unresponsive man, who was identified as Phillip Mulinaro, dead at the scene.
Detectives later learned Mulinaro had died of an overdose. Detectives then began working to figure out how he got the deadly drug.
