Description
While IMPD was arresting a man for his alleged role in a deadly overdose investigation, they found more than just the suspect — they discovered almost 80 grams of fentanyl and $30,000 in cash.
On Dec. 21, 2024, IMPD officers responded to a report of a person down in the 700 block of East Thompson Road. When police arrived on scene, they found an unresponsive man who was pronounced dead at the scene by medics.
Detectives later learned that the man had died of an overdose and began to work on how the man got the deadly drug.
Investigators were eventually able to identify a suspect that led them to the 4400 block of Southport Crossing Drive to perform a traffic stop on the main suspect — who refused to stop, leading police on a short pursuit before being arrested.
