Measles is continuing to spread across the southern and western United States. CNN is reporting the number of cases this year has already surpassed the total for all of 2024. There are now at least 308 cases in 2025. Last year, there were 285 cases. And as the infection numbers rise, state health departments are urging people to get vaccinated. Measles was declared eliminated in the U.S. in 2000. Since then, there have been an average of 179 reported measles cases each year. Vaccination rates have been trending down ever since COVID-19.
