In August 2024, roughly 80% of IPS students were vaccinated against the measles. Now, that rate has hit 95%. "I think it just goes to show that most people want to get their kids vaccinated," said Dr. Megan Carlson, the director of health services at Indianapolis Public Schools. Carlson oversees student immunizations for all IPS students, and she is seeing success.
