A 2-month-old girl was killed and her 3-year-old brother was critically injured before later dying in a crash during a police pursuit in Plainfield on the morning of Feb. 5, 2025. According to a spokesperson with the Plainfield Police Department, an Avon police officer tried to stop a car near U.S. 40 and Ronald Reagan Parkway around 9:15 a.m. Feb. 5. Police said the driver did not stop and crashed with another car, which caught fire.
