Description
During his long career, Indiana State Fire Marshal Steve Jones has fought a lot of fires. He’s now facing a much different battle. “I’ve been in the business 40 years. I’ve taken in a lot of smoke and all those exposures, over time, I’ve got cancer now,” Jones said. Jones will have surgery this week to remove a malignant tumor in a kidney. He spoke with 13News inside his office at the Indiana State Government Center, where he’s now determined to raise awareness about what’s become the biggest threat to the lives of firefighters nationwide.
