Description
An 18-year-old male student has been arrested following the execution of a search warrant at Perry Meridian High School.
A public police report from IMPD says around 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 27, officers served a search warrant at 401 West Meridian School Road.
According to a message sent to Perry Meridian staff and parents following the incident, a teacher at the school reported students possibly vaping in a restroom. Following that report, the school's administrative team began an investigation and identified a student who was allegedly vaping in the restroom.
After the student's identification, Perry Township School Police and their K-9 unit searched the student's vehicle.
During the course of the search, police seized marijuana, six rounds of live 9mm ammunition and a .223 caliber semiautomatic rifle, according to the police report.
