IMPD is investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that happened Saturday evening on the near east side of Indianapolis. According to IMPD, around 7:20 p.m. on March 1, officers responded to a report of a person struck by a vehicle at the intersection of East Washington and North Rural streets. When officers arrived, they found a woman who appeared to have been hit by a car. IMPD says the woman was transported to an area hospital but was later pronounced dead. The car that struck the woman did not remain on scene.
