Indianapolis police are investigating the death of a man who allegedly left court while awaiting a jury trial verdict, leading to a SWAT standoff on the city's near northeast side Wednesday. The Marion County Sheriff's Office said the man's death is being investigated as an apparent suicide. Police said that on Wednesday, Feb. 26, a criminal defendant free on a cash bond left the Community Justice Campus while awaiting a verdict in his jury trial and did not return to the courtroom.
