A contentious push to build a large data center in Hendricks County is moving forward.
The Pittsboro Planning Commission voted 4-1 in favor of rezoning the old Smith Family Farms lot to allow for industrial development.
Vantage Data Centers wants to use 285 acres of the site to build one of their data storage centers. During a public meeting Tuesday evening, Pittsboro residents filled the town hall to share their concerns. The biggest worries include noise pollution, increased traffic, impacts on property values and straining the town's water and power infrastructure.
