The commissioner of Major League Soccer was in Indianapolis Monday night, as Mayor Joe Hogsett continues his pursuit of an MLS team for the Circle City. MLS Commissioner Don Garber attended Monday's Indiana Pacers game with Hogsett at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. "We appreciate his invitation to visit and the warm welcome from the community today. We always welcome discussions with civic and business leaders committed to growing the sport," MLS chief communications officer Dan Courtemanche said in a statement to 13News Monday night. 13News learned leaders with Visit Indy, Indiana Sports Corp and the Capital Improvement Board were also in attendance. Even the governor stated his support on Tuesday. “I would think we ought to figure out how to accommodate it because we're a great sports town,” Gov. Mike Braun said during a press conference at the Statehouse Tuesday.
