Description
What would happen if one of the most popular sports memes disappeared?
That's what executive producer and actor Josiah Johnson is investigating in the satirical mockumentary film, "Memes & Nightmares."
"The film takes a look at the social media basketball community at large, NBA Twitter. It really takes a deep dive into the world, and it also shows that memes ain't always what they seem," said Johnson, who has more than 266,000 followers on X, formerly known as Twitter. "One of the central plot points of our film is that the J. R. Smith squinting meme – which people may know from back in the day, it was really heavy back in 2017, 2018, 2019 – but one of the most essential memes in the NBA Twitter community goes missing."
"Memes & Nightmares" is now streaming on Hulu.
