Description
"When the odds are unbelievable, show the world you're unbreakable."
That's the tagline for "The Unbreakable Boy," which is based on a true story of Austin LeRette (Jacob Laval), who is autistic and has brittle bone disease, as his father, Scott LeRette (Zachary Levi), is tested in his faith but inspired by his son's cheerful mentality.
Best known for his work in "Chuck," Shazam!" and "Tangled," Levi was set to film "American Underdog," starring as Super Bowl winner Kurt Warner, at the end of 2020, but the COVID-19 pandemic delayed filming.
Levi said he then went to Kingdom Story Company's CEO Jon Erwin and CCO Andrew Erwin to ask if there was a smaller budget film to safely get the "American Underdog" crew back to work.
"The Erwins brought me five different options. I read all of them, and 'Unbreakable Boy' just jumped out to me," Levi said. "I felt like God was saying, 'This is a movie that needs to be made.'"
"The Unbreakable Boy" is now in theaters nationwide.
