There was a contentious meeting Wednesday over the new director for Indianapolis Animal Care Services. There has been pushback from shelter volunteers over consideration to give the organization's interim director the permanent role. There was no vote on the matter Feb. 19 because a City-County Council committee had already voted in January to approve the appointment of Kelly Diamond and send it to the full council.
