Description
With more than 500 episodes, "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" is currently the longest-running primetime live-action show on TV.
Emmy winner Mariska Hargitay stars as Capt. Olivia Benson, now the commanding officer of the New York Police Department's Special Victims Unit, which investigates sexually-based crimes.
"She's amazing. I've joked around that she's mother, but she really is. She's the captain. She's incredible leading a set," Juliana Aidén Martinez ("Griselda"), in her first season as Junior Det. Kate Silva, said of Hargitay. "She's really lovely and very funny. I think people just don't know how funny she is."
Kevin Kane ("Life & Beth," "Inside Amy Schumer") is in his third season as Junior Det. Terry Bruno — but he's uniquely played other characters on the show, too.
"I have twice, on this show, ended episodes in handcuffs. In 26 years, I got to circle back and put the handcuffs on other people. It's been a wild ride for me to be one of the squad," Kane said. "The last episode I did before I did Det. Bruno was directed by Mariska. I think the key is I never played a creep. I was always fighting for somebody else's justice — maybe in the wrong way."
New episodes of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" air Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.
