Description
Multiple groups of Hoosiers headed south to aid with rescue operations in Kentucky after at least eight people were killed in the state during devastating flooding.
On Saturday evening, Feb. 15, Indiana Task Force 1 deployed to the state with nearly 50 people as a "Type 3 Water Rescue Task Force with Water Resources."
IN-TF1 is one of 28 highly-trained Department of Homeland Security (DHS)- and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)-sponsored Urban Search and Rescue teams in the United States, according to the Government of Indianapolis.
