Description
Republican lawmakers in the House have released their version of the next two-year budget.
When asked how he would describe this budget proposal in one-word, State Rep. Jeff Thompson (R-District 28), chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee said, "opportunity."
Thompson said there's not much daylight between the budget proposal from House Republicans and the one from Gov. Mike Braun.
The governor's budget called for all state agencies to cut spending by 5%.
The budget proposal from House Republicans does that, too, except to the Department of Children's Services and the Department of Correction.
