An animal welfare investigation is underway in Martin County. The sheriff's office posted photos on social media of eight horses a veterinarian said were in "poor condition." One was in such bad shape it had to be euthanized, authorities said. The three people responsible for taking care of the horses were arrested on animal cruelty allegations, the sheriff's department said. The horses had deep scars from passing through belly-deep frozen mud.
