Description
Downtown Indy, Inc. is asking the City-County Council to approve a more-than $4 million budget to improve safety, cleanliness and homeless outreach for the Mile Square.
It's all part of the Economic Enhancement District, which got the green light from the Statehouse in 2024 after the original plan was modified to exclude fees from residential properties.
Currently, the nonprofit uses federal dollars to fund downtown services like cleaning crews, beautification projects, safety ambassadors on the streets and homelessness initiatives.
