Description
Time is running out for a bill designed to protect domestic violence survivors from their abusers.
Senate Bill 470, authored by Sen. Fady Qaddoura (D-District 30), is meant to increase protections for survivors. Those include GPS monitoring for domestic violence offenders after they are released from jail and training police on when they can take weapons under Indiana's Red Flag Law.
The bill was sent to the Senate Committee on Corrections and Criminal Law, but it has not been given a hearing yet. With just a week left to get passed by the Senate, the bill is running out of time.
