"Are these real?" Troy McElfresh asked himself in the summer of 2024. He was cleaning out a Muncie home for an estate sale. He opened the kitchen junk drawer and was shocked by what he saw. "I opened this up, and there's Joe DiMaggio," said McElfresh. "Yogi Berra, Satchel Paige, Ted Williams, Jackie Robinson." Stacks of legendary trading cards from some of America's favorite pastime's biggest stars. "I was just in disbelief at the time that these legends were there together," said McElfresh. McElfresh is the owner and CEO of Mr Bid Auctions in Muncie. He, along with his team, sent the cards off to be graded by the Professional Sports Authenticator. Turns out, they are legit Topps cards from the 1940s and 1950s.
