Description
A 2-month-old girl was killed and her 3-year-old brother was critically injured in a crash during a police pursuit in Plainfield Wednesday morning.
According to a spokesperson with the Plainfield Police Department, an Avon police officer tried to stop a car near U.S. 40 and Ronald Reagan Parkway around 9:15 a.m. Feb. 5. Police said the driver did not stop and crashed with another car, which caught fire.
Police confirmed one person died and two people in the struck car were injured. Police said Avon officers at the scene were also injured while helping people involved in the crash. The officers were treated and released from the hospital.
The suspect is in custody.
